hello guys

my name is oleg, i`m from ukraine
sorry for english posting, unfortunately, i dont speak polish
i will be grateful for the answer to the next question
i take a great interest in polish bicycle laws
rules of the road, profile law for cyclists, maybe articles from any other laws relating to cycling, and most importantly - the laws requiring the authorities to do something for cyclists - to build bicycle paths, build infrastructure, etc.
could you help me please?
thanks!

In a nutshell, cyclists in Poland are obliged to follow the Traffic Code ("Prawo o ruchu drogowym" in Polish), especially when cycling on roads. However, cycling-specific provisions are very limited, the most important of which are probably the following:

  • the obligation to cycle close to the right edge of the rightmost traffic lane going in the direction you want to travel, for example, if the lanes leading up to the intersection look like this http://www.szkolnictwo.pl/rysunki_lekcje/2081/7182, and if you want to travel straight through the intersection, then it's required to take the right side of the middle lane.
  • specific requirements on lights and other equipment every bike should have. A regular, two-wheel bike, should be equipped with a white light in the front, a red light in the back, a red retroreflector in the back, at least one brake, and a bell. Blinking lights are allowed.
  • the obligation to cycle on bike paths or bike lanes if they match the direction you are going in.

As far as infrastructure is concerned, there is a law requiring cycling paths to be built with every new road, and there are some guidelines on the way they should be built (such as the use of asphalt, the width of the path, and the height of curbstones at intersections). Unfortunately, the Polish bike infrastructure is very backwards. Hardly any city has a well-developed network of bike paths, and the authorities don't give cycling the same priority as they do for cars.

I hope that will give you a starting point for your research :)

the obligation to cycle close to the right edge of the rightmost traffic lane going in the direction you want to travel

It's not quite like that. cyclist can ride the middle of the road in cities (if there's no bike road nearby) especially in the crossing.

regulation on acquisition of bicycle cards:

When You're over 18 You can ride a bike freely, same case on a motorbike/scooter up to 50ccm. You need only Your personal ID. Better when You have a driving licence.

Your bike should be in working order. Should have a red rear reflex and white front reflex. additionally Bike should have rear flashing or glowing red light.

Biker should wear reflection waistcoat in the evening. Like this one https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRx9Tq8-8kA3nEeVfaQnNjQVdirOFU-O10bkrs8-w3uDKoPlJ8bIQ

I don't really know that the helmet is required :D but better wear it :P

there is a law requiring cycling paths to be built with every new road

Comrades from the legal forum told me, there is no legal obligation, but the councils of several polish cities (like Warsaw, Krakow and Trojmiasto) adopted such regulations

Does anyone know about this?

There isn't that law.

We can only speak about good practice.

Bike travelling and comuting are significantly increased in last 3 years.

Society demands more bike roads , so politicians and communal officers has to fullfill this demands.

Lately, our president, Bronisław, signed a document to bulild I think the longest bike road in Europe, over 1000km ... well, for now our "Sejm" in other words Government will be voting for this project.
